Letter to Parents 11th Sept
Dear Parents
As the new Athletics Coordinator at ICS I would like to apologize for inconvenience that may have occurred concerned with the organisation of swimming at ICS over the last few weeks. It has been a real frustration that we have not been able to develop a consistency in the organisation of swimming due to the off & on again opening of our school pool.
We have hit another problem with pool and it is now empty for maybe 3-4 weeks. For the next 2 weeks we would like to operate the following schedule
Monday 15th Sept Public Holiday
Tuesday 16th Sept MS to swim meet
Wednesday 17th Sept MS to Ma On Shan
Thursday 18th Sept HS to Ma on Shan
Monday 22nd Sept HS to Ma on Shan
Tuesday 23rd Sept MS to swim meet
Wednesday 24th Sept MS to Ma On Shan
Thursday 25th Sept HS to Ma on Shan
However, we have swim meets that are taking place and numbers are restricted as not all students are prepared for these events and a selection process is carried out by our swimming coaches - Ms Larned & Mr Metz. Unfortunately not all students will be able to be involved. Generally only proven swimmers will attend these meets.
Since these meets also fall on a practice afternoons - Scheduled Swimming for that age group will be cancelled and coaches will be away with swim team
Travelling to Events – It is really important that all swimmers get to buses on time especially when we are travelling to Hong Kong Island. Buses will have a 3.00pm departure time – leaving at 3.15 or later means we will be definitely late. Remember to excuse yourself from class 5 – 10 minutes before 3.00pm.
Communicating information –
Everyone needs to learn where information can be accessed especially swimmers. Students also need to inform their parents where this information can be found.
First port of call will be eClass all announcements concerning sport will be made on eclass any information will be placed in assignments. Personal information like list of swimmers will be on eclass.
Second port of call will be our ICS Sports News -webpage

This a very important link as each week it will have all the activities that are happening for the following week. Games, Venues, departure & arrival times etc. This should help students & parents plan their week.
This page also has links for all sports & the playing schedule for the season. Therefore, this gives people time to plan in advance. If you have any question please feel free to contact me.

MS Swim team -
Please check to see if you have been selected to swim next tuesday at CNDIS by going to eClass and then assignments.
If you are selcted then you are meet Ms Larned for an important meeting Friday after school at the swimming pool glass. She would like to remind swimmers what to bring, and when to leave their classrooms on Tuesday for the meet.

Reminders -1st - 7th Sept
ICS Sports Program 2nd September 2008
1. Season #1 Commences this week -
All students should check their game schedule, which can be found on this main page or sub folders for each sport.
Important that all players check this regularly.
1a- Early release from Class due to Sports games.
Please note because of the draw for games this week students will be required to leave class early. Students will need to leave class at 2.50pm – to catch bus at 3.00pm.
They involve the following teams
Tuesday 2nd Sept U14 Boys & Girls Volleyball teams travelling to HKIS
Thursday 4th Sept U16 Boys team who are travelling to HKIS
2. Uniforms –
Teams need to collect uniforms this week during the lunch break please see schedule below
All Students will be issued with a letter explaining that they will need to pay a $300 cash bond when they collect their uniform. Students who are collecting uniforms on monday will be excused from paying bond until a later date. The Bond will be returned at the end of the season when uniforms have been returned in the order that they were given.
Location - Upper Gym Changing Rooms
Monday - Volleyball under 14 Boys & Girls
Tuesday Volleyball under 16 & 20 Girls
Wednesday Volleyball under 16 & 20 Boys
Thursday Soccer MS Boys
Cross country will be issued uniforms nearer your first event
Swimming No uniform
2a. Tracksuits
–We have made it mandatory for all students who play for a sports team to purchase and to wear school tracksuit to all games home & away. Cost is $300.00. This week we have our uniform man Ricky in school on Tuesday & Wednesday during the lunch to take measurements of students who need a tracksuit, location (changing rooms in upper gym area)
